ART AND CULTURE NEARBY

Art lovers and historical buffs can find a hidden treasure trove of culture around Lakeland. The Polk Museum is home to many exciting permanent collections and hosts award winning traveling exhibits annually. Located a short walk from The Lakeland Center, The Polk Museum is a great respite from a day of meetings. Nestled on the shores of spectacular Lake Hollingsworth, Florida Southern College is home to the largest collection of Frank Lloyd Wright architecture in the world.

Appropriately named "Child of the Sun," by Wright, Florida Southern College also houses an informative museum dedicated to the life of America's most revered architect and is home to the newly restored "Water Dome" fountain, one of his last experimental concept projects. The campus is a "must see" for any modern art and architecture fans.

THE FLORIDA AIR MUSEUM
Designated in 2003 as Florida's "Official Aviation Museum and Education Center," The Florida Air Museum displays a rich variety of aircraft and artifacts covering the history and significance of the first 100 years of flight. The museum features a dynamic display of the best examples aviation has to offer with more than 50 aircraft on display including one-of-a-kind designs, classics, ultralights, antiques and warbirds.
